With the launch of the new 49X comes the launch of the new Detroit DT12 Vocational transmission.
This transmission was built from the ground up for any vocation and is available the DT12-V and DT12-VX for extreme terrain. Detroit has built many different modes into the DT12-Vl. One of the is off-road mode which holds shifts to lower gears, rock-free mode facilitates roll out when the truck is stuck and paver mode for dump trucks being pushed to quickly shift into gear.
The 49X is also available with Allison fully automatic transmissions, the 4000, 4500 and 4700 series are all available. Also available are the Eaton manual transmissions and the Eaton Ultrashift automated manual. The last transmission option is The Fabco FAT-30 auxiliary transmission used for extreme heavy haul work. No matter the transmission that is selected, the 49X is built for the harshest of vocations and will get the job done.
