What Our Employees Are Saying
"After several years I decided to take the plunge and apply at Western Star. This was a decision I didn’t take lightly and I do not regret it. Here at Western Star, I don’t feel like just a number. I feel that I am appreciated for the job that I do. I mostly value the feeling of family here. This is a tight knit group and they have welcomed me in with open arms. I am proud to work at a company with so much heart and dedication to their employees."
CRYSTAL - JOURNEYMAN PARTS TECHNICIAN
“Being part of the big and growing WSN family! I feel like coming to my second home. I feel safe, welcomed and happy. I can be myself. To know that people are there that actually care about you and your well-being makes it more enjoyable every day. Everyone treats everyone with respect and supports each other in stressful times. Since 2014”
MARSIEH - PAYROLL ACCOUNTANT
“I am a second-year heavy duty apprentice. I have been here coming on 3 months now, and I am very grateful for the opportunity to work here. In the short time I have been here, I am learning lots and have a very supportive/ knowledgeable crew to work alongside while I transition to the on-road side of the HET trade. Everyone is pleasant to work with, and its been a very positive and welcoming atmosphere. Its been fun attending the many little events put on for the staff, rock paper scissors tournaments, barbeques, etc. I also really like that there is the opportunity to continue with learning and gaining additional certifications once school is completed. Definitely happy I made the transition to Western Star. ”
JESSICA - HEAVY DUTY APPRENTICE
“Been with Western Star for 1 year and 3 months. I started work as a Service Advisor at Western Star in September of 2022 after moving back to Fort McMurray. I love that Western Star cultivates an agile company culture. I get to work with some of the most wonderful people who form a close-knit work environment, making workdays enjoyable. It has provided me within an enriching future within WSN and opened a career opportunity within the Truck industry. I truly enjoy my time here and the support we receive from not just our FTM branch but our ACH and GP branches as well. ”

Definitely happy I made the transition to Western Star. (Im not sure where to fit this in, but one thing that definitely stood out for my family was when my daughter was hurt and unable to go trick or treating this year. Some of the staff had found out and told me to go-to the front desk at the end of my shift, where they had made her a huge bag of treats and a teddy bear. We were thankful for the kind gesture.)”
